South African Supermarket Chain to Roll Out NCR POS Solution
CAPE TOWN, South Africa - Score Supermarkets, a subsidiary of South Africa's Pick 'n Pay Stores Limited, has selected point-of-sale (POS) software and hardware from NCR Corporation for its 180 stores throughout the country.
The solution, provided by NCR's South African distributor, National Data Systems, includes the NCR Advanced StoreRetail software platform with NCR RealPOS 80c point-of-sale workstations, NCR RealScan bar code scanners, NCR RealPOS thermal receipt printers and in-store computers. Installation is already underway, and the rollout to all Score locations is planned for completion in 2004.
