Social Networking Helps Q bel Support Nonprofits


Q.bel Foods, LLC, a manufacturer of all-natural chocolate wafer rolls and wafer bars, has rolled a contest encouraging consumers to send in a short paragraph explaining why they think their charity of choice is in sync with the company’s tagline “Be True. Be Honest. Be Good.” Once all submissions have been received, the Nyack, N.Y.-based brand, which bowed in January 2009, will choose a qualifying entry, the author of which will receive a donation to his or her favored charity, in addition to $25 in Q.bel coupons.

News of the contest is being disseminated through such social media as Facebook, Twitter, and WordPress, where Q bel fans can find out more information about, including how to enter. In keeping with the company’s promise to “Be Good”, the contest will be held monthly, with a new winning submission each month, until the end of 2010.

Q.bel lives up to what it calls its “mantra” by using the finest all-natural ingredients, and a commitment to sustainability evident in the use of 100 percent recycled and recyclable paper and plastic trays, as well as in the company’s support suppliers that adopt green energy practices. The brand views the contest as an ongoing effort toward reaching its sustainability goals.
