Sobeys Names Winners 'Now We're Cookin'!' Sweepstakes
STELLARTON, N.S. -- Six Sobeys customers in Atlantic Canada have received prizes in the retailer's "Now We're Cookin'!" Summer Sweepstakes.
Sobeys customers who used their AIR MILES card between July 2 and Aug. 5 were eligible to win one of six prizes of $15,000 for a kitchen makeover, or one of 30 prizes of a gourmet dinner for four, cooked by a professional chef in the winner's home and valued at CAN $500.
The contest winners were John Andrews of St. John's, N.L., who said he planned to do two kitchen makeovers with his prize, at his family home and at his cottage; Gordon Weatherby of Burtts Corner, N.B., who entered the sweepstakes while vacationing in St. Stephen, N.B.; Samuel York of Halifax, N.S., who said he plans to buy new appliances; Carolyn Gunning of Pictou, N.S., who plans to put her prize toward an upcoming vacation and her retirement; Joanne Demand of Amherst, N.S., who looks forward to a kitchen update; and Carolyn Walker of New Minas, N.S., who intends to get new kitchen flooring and remodel her bathroom. Ceremonies were held Aug. 19 at the respective stores from which the winning entries came.
The Sobeys "Now We're Cookin'!" Sweepstakes was supported by Unilever, QTG, General Mills, and Kraft.
