Sobeys Names New C.F.O.
STELLARTON, N.S. -- Sobeys, Inc. here has appointed Francois Vimard to the post of c.f.o. of the company, replacing Bruce Terry, who has decided to leave the company and pursue other interests.
As c.f.o. Vimard, a chartered accountant, will continue to provide leadership oversight for the grocer's Business Process Optimization initiatives. Vimard joined Sobeys in 1995 as director, general accounting (Quebec region), and later became s.v.p., finance and strategic planning for Sobey's Quebec operations in 2000 before assuming the role of e.v.p. supply chain & technology in 2003.
A wholly owned subsidiary of the Empire Co., Ltd., Sobeys owns or franchises over 1,300 stores in all 10 Canadian provinces under such banners as Sobeys, IGA, Foodland, and Price Chopper food stores and Lawtons Drug Stores.
