Sobeys Closing Food Distribution Office
STELLARTON, N.S. -- Sobeys here is closing the Middleton, N.S. office of TRA Atlantic, a food distribution company the Canadian retailer owns, according to published reports.
Sobeys spokesman Gerald Weseen said that the closure would lead to the termination of 30 administrative employees, who were given the news late last week.
Support services for Sobeys' wholesale operations, which were previously handled by the Middleton office, will henceforth be taken over by Sobeys headquarters in Stellarton, noted Weseen.
He further noted that the closing of the office would have no effect on TRA warehouse operations or the 107 warehouse employees.
