For those who want Nature’s Own hearty bread slices in a size closer to that of traditional sandwich bread, the wait is over. Each slice of the brand’s Premium Specialty bread is now just the right fit for most lunchmeats, cheeses, toasters and sandwich bags. The new, more convenient size also provides a longer loaf with more slices than those normally offered by specialty breads, according to Brent Bradshaw, brand manager at Thomasville, Ga.-based Flowers Foods, the manufacturer of Nature’s Own. “Consumers responded well to the concept in research, and we expect this to translate to excitement at the shelf,” he added. Available in Healthy Multi-Grain, 12-Grain and 100% Whole Wheat varieties, the fiber-and whole grain-packed product line is free of high-fructose corn syrup and artificial preservatives, colors and flavors.
