ShopRite Rewards Loyalty With e-Coupons

To give shoppers more ways to save on their grocery bills, ShopRite has added a Coupons.com “Save to Card” coupon gallery on its Web site that enables users to apply coupons directly to their ShopRite Price Plus Club cards.

Accessible 24/7, the new gallery, which features coupons for items across the store, is available at www.shoprite.com/coupons. After registering their card information, shoppers can choose the coupons they want, and when their cards are entered or swiped at checkout, coupons are automatically deducted from the total, without shoppers having to clip or scan printed coupons.

The Save to Card gallery complements ShopRite’s current offering of online printable coupons, also courtesy of Coupons.com, which the grocer has provided since 2008.

“ShopRite is dedicated to helping shoppers save money, and the new Save to Card coupon gallery is just another way we are doing just that,” explained Joe Sheridan, EVP of Keasbey, N.J.-based Wakefern Food Corp., the supermarket co-op whose 47 members individually own and operate over 220 ShopRite stores in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland. “Coupons.com has the most coupons available for brands found across our stores, so shoppers can stretch their grocery budgets without compromising quality or convenience.”

“More and more consumers are looking to the Internet as a valuable resource for money-saving offers. In fact, hundreds of thousands of dollars in savings have already been printed from ShopRite’s gallery of online printable coupons,” added Steven Boal, CEO of Mountain View, Calif.-based Coupons.com, Inc. “At the same time, a growing number of consumers are learning that savvy supermarkets are allowing coupons to be saved directly to their store loyalty card. It is an easy way to use coupons for consumers who would rather not print and organize coupons. With the addition of the new Save to Card gallery, ShopRite is giving its customers the option to use coupons the way they prefer — either printed or on their Price Plus card.”

ShopRite is the registered trademark of Wakefern, the largest supermarket cooperative in the United States.
