ShopRite Launches Annual Can Can Sale

Marking its 42nd anniversary this year, ShopRite’s well-known annual Can Can Sale will start on Thursday, Jan. 3 and run through Saturday, Jan. 19.

The popular sale features low prices on a variety of canned goods, along with the iconic Can Can dancers familiar to generations of Northeastern shoppers. Over the years, the event has evolved from focusing only on ShopRite private label products to include many national brands as well. In 2002, Keasbey, N.J.-based ShopRite introduced a Summer Can Can Sale.

Although there are no sales figures available from the early days of the Can Can Sale, the retail cooperative estimates it has sold more than 3 billion cans since the yearly event began.

ShopRite is the registered trademark of Wakefern Food Corp., the largest supermarket cooperative in the United States. With almost 250 ShopRite supermarkets throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland, ShopRite serves more than 5 million customers each week.
