ShopRite Dietitian Honored by NY State
Sarah Daubman, retail dietitian at ShopRite supermarket in Kingston, N.Y., has been named Young Dietitian of the Year by the New York State Dietetic Association.
Each year, the NYSDA recognizes Young Dietitians of the Year from across the state. The award recognizes dietitians who are age 35 or younger who have made significant accomplishments in their careers, education, leadership and the profession of dietetics.
“We are extremely proud that Sarah has been recognized as the Young Dietitian of the Year by the New York State Dietetic Association,” said Tom Urtz, ShopRite VP of human resources and community affairs. “Her dedication to health and wellness and her drive to educate the public on simple ways to lead a healthier lifestyle has been well received by the Kingston community. She is deserving of this distinguished award and we hope that our customers continue to utilize her as a valuable resource.”
Daubman develops nutrition programs for her store and serves the local community and schools by providing information and guidance to help influence better food choices. She is also responsible for the development of nutritional programs for store associates, customers and the local community, in addition to grocery shopping tours, healthy cooking classes, recipe and pantry makeovers, and coordination of other health and wellness initiatives and in-store nutritional programs.
Daubman is one of more than 25 registered dietitians who serve Wakefern's ShopRite stores in Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.
