Shop ’n Save Launching New Store in Suburban Pittsburgh

A new Shop ’n Save supermarket will open in Pittsburgh's eastern suburbs of Delmont, Pa., this week. It will be the first Shop ’n Save location for owner Doug Hayes, who has spent more than 25 years in the grocery business. Doug and his father, Mel Hayes, previously owned a Foodland in Kittanning, Pa.

At 15,000 square feet, the full-service grocery store will feature updated décor and new fixtures; amenities will include a full-service deli, bakery and fresh-cut meat. The location will provide 25 new jobs to the area.

Hayes anticipates a mutually satisfying relationship for his new store and members of the borough of Delmont, which is located 26 miles east of Pittsburgh.. “My wife and I look forward to becoming a part of that community and offering our customers the best possible savings on a variety of services," he said.

Shop ’n Save operates more than 70 independently owned stores in Western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and West Virginia.
