Shop ‘n Save Enhances S.E.E.D Program

Shop ‘n Save has added a digital update to its Students Extra Education Development (S.E.E.D) program by bringing interactive assemblies to local schools, in an effort to make it easier for students to get involved.

Through the update, shoppers can register their Perks Cards online and choose the school they’d like to receive their earnings toward an assembly. Instead of submitting receipts, shoppers can help their schools earn assemblies instantly at the register.

“We are proud of the S.E.E.D. program and Shop ‘n Save’s long-standing role in bringing fun and educational assemblies into our local schools,” said Rich Haeflein, advertising account manager for Supervalu, which supplies the independently owned and operated Shop ‘n Save stores. “We wanted to make it even easier for everyone in the community to play a part by bringing the program online and making it a seamless process to earn an assembly.”

Each time customers shop at their local Shop ‘n Save with their Perks Card, purchases will be automatically added to the linked school’s total, contributing to the goal of $250 per student required to earn educational S.E.E.D. assemblies. Shoppers will also earn their own fuel discounts and the exclusive savings available to card holders.

For more than 20 years, Shop ‘n Save’s S.E.E.D. program has partnered with Carnegie Science Center, Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium to provide more than 2.5 million students with hands-on assemblies.

Shop ‘n Save’s 90 independently owned and operated stores reside in Western Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, Ohio and West Virginia.
