Shaw's Teams with 'America's Test Kitchen'

Shaw's Supermarkets, Inc. has reportedly entered into a partnership with popular PBS show "America's Test Kitchen" as a way to help shoppers get enthusiastic about cooking.

The program, known as "Get Inspired," comes in the wake of focus groups run by the West Bridgewater, Mass.-based chain discovered that many consumers were "sleep-shopping" in its stores and preparing the same "uninspired" meals every week, Shaw's told the Boston Globe.

The mission of "America's Test Kitchen," which stars Cook's Illustrated publisher and editor Christopher Kimball: to come up with simple but exciting recipes that can be prepared in 30 minutes.

Beginning this month, Shaw's stores will feature an "Inspiration Station" booth offering recipes tested at the show's headquarters in Brookline, Mass. Additionally, store aisles will have signs directing shoppers to the ingredients needed for recipes.

"Get Inspired" is slated to offer eight recipes monthly, according to Shaw's. Recipes likely to be featured include garlic chicken with sweet roasted pepper sauce, Mediterranean pork chops, and seared salmon with balsamic glaze.
