Shaw's Hatches New Program to Save Moms Time and Money

WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - Shaw's Supermarkets Inc., the New England chain owned by J Sainsbury plc, on Friday announced the launch of "ducklings," a program that provides pregnant women and moms with children up to five years old coupons and valuable information. The program is available to Shaw's Rewards Card holders.

"Shaw's Supermarkets has stores across New England, and we serve a very diverse customer base. However, customer research indicates that a majority of our customers have something very special in common -- they are moms," said Nicola DiFelice, senior v.p., marketing. "At Shaw's we understand that our customers' lives are really hectic and stressful and that they are looking for ways to make their lives a little easier. As a way to give a little help to these important customers, we have introduced ducklings."

The program includes ducklings magazine and a ducklings hard cover binder series. Both are filled with craft projects for kids, horoscopes, decorating ideas, beauty and fitness tips, quick, flavorful recipes and more.

The binder series will be mailed directly to registered customers over time, mirroring the developmental stages of their child.

As a ducklings member, customers will also periodically receive a Shaw's Savings Sampler featuring up to $40 worth of coupons.
