Shaw's Appoints Paul Gannon President
WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - Shaw's Supermarkets Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of J Sainsbury, plc, has announced the appointment of Paul T. Gannon to president and chief operating officer. This move, effective immediately, reflects a transition of responsibility in anticipation of President Ross McLaren's retirement. McLaren will remain as Shaw's CEO but as a member of the Sainsbury's Group Executive Committee, will devote greater time to develop group synergies.
Working with McLaren, Scott W. Ramsay, currently executive vice president and CFO, will take on the additional responsibilities of executive vice president USA Group Services with particular responsibility for growth opportunities for Shaw's. Both Ramsay and Gannon will report to Ross McLaren.
Nicola DiFelice, currently vice president of non perishable buying, has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing. This is a new position and effective immediately. DiFelice will also join the Shaw's board and executive committee.
