Select L.A. Walmarts Hosting NASCAR Fan Events

As Los Angeles gears up for the Fontana Auto Club 400 on March 27, select local Walmart stores are holding exclusive NASCAR fan events through the new “Race Time” program through Saturday, March 26. At these special events, customers can experience real stock racing car displays and racing simulator machines.

“We’ve found that nearly nine out of 10 NASCAR fans chose to shop at Walmart,” said Walmart market manager Wesley Morris, citing a Simmons National Consumer Survey conducted by Experian Consumer Research in the autumn of 2009. “We wanted to provide Los Angeles race fans with unique Race Time experiences and unbelievable savings on NASCAR merchandise that you can only find at Walmart.”

Along with the fan events, which are taking place in the mega-retailer’s parking lots, Walmart stores will offer hot pricing on NASCAR merchandise throughout the racing season on such products as T-shirts, racing flags, and tailgating food and beverages, with even more items available on Walmart.com/NASCAR.

Participating store locations are in San Bernardino, Rialto, Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga.

Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. operates more than 8,800 retail units under 59 different banners in 15 countries.
