Scolari’s to Enhance Web site with Interactive Services

Scolari’s Food & Drug plans to enhance its online presence with new digital shopper planning services that include online access to weekly circulars, printable coupons, personalized specials, recipes, wine pairings and customized shopping lists.

The Reno, Nev.-based independent will use the GSNConnect service from Minneapolis-based Grocery Shopping Network for these interactive services, which are designed to give customers a personalized shopping experience enabling them to pre-shop the entire store, aisle by aisle. Scolari’s expects to launch GSNConnect in October 2009.

GSNConnect lets shoppers view every page of a store’s weekly circular before it’s available in print. Viewers can click on the advertised item, and it will then be placed on the shopping list where they can adjust the quantity. It also connects customers to manufacturer coupon offers, customized unadvertised specials and product information. In addition, over 64,000 kitchen-tested recipes and more than 160 cooking videos are available on the platform.

Scolari’s operates 13 stores in northern Nevada and four in the central coast area of California.
