Schwan's Gears Up for Tailgate Season

In preparation for tailgate season, Schwan's Consumer Brands has launched a college football online platform for its Red Baron, Freschetta and Tony's pizza brands.

Hosted on, the platform offers entertainment tips for game-day festivities, college football content and trivia, recipes and games.  

Schwan's is also hosting a series of online contests which offer consumers a chance to win $150,000 in daily and monthly prizes, including five monthly sweepstakes of $10,000 cash, a home-entertainment makeover and a kitchen makeover. 

“With 83 percent of college football fans choosing to watch games from home and 61 percent of fans hosting a game party at home at least once a month, ‘tailgating’ at home has never been more popular,” said Bob Waldron, president of Marshall, Minn.-based Schwan’s Consumer Brands. “We are happy to facilitate the trend, taking living-room tailgating to a new level with our exciting college football integrated promotion.”

In support of the new platform, Schwan's Red Baron, Freschetta and Tony's brands promotional packaging will appear in stores through Jan. 10, 2015.
