Schnucks Names VP of IT Systems

Schnuck Markets, Inc. has named David Steck its VP of IT infrastructure, in which he will oversee a team charged with management of all critical applications running through the company's data centers.

Formerly senior director of IT infrastructure, asset and spend management at Express Scripts, Steck was responsible for the company's infrastructure budget, and directed its asset management team to drive synergy savings, develop strategies and negotiate new and existing vendor contracts.

"I see this as a unique opportunity for Dave to put his pharmacy and technology expertise to work in directly impacting and nourishing the lives of our customers,” said Schnucks CIO Bob Hardester, to whom Steck will report.

Prior to Express Scripts, Steck worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Missouri as manager of database systems, and before that at McDonnell Douglas as a senior database analyst.

St. Louis-based Schnuck Markets operates 98 stores and 94 in-store pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa.
