Save Mart’s Aisles of Smiles and Shamrocks Raise Funds for Jerry’s Kids

Save Mart Supermarkets launched a charity promotion in which shoppers can donate to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) by shopping for products included in the Aisles of Smiles promotion and by purchasing paper shamrock icons at the check stand.
“Giving up on the medical research to battle degenerative muscular diseases is not an option,” said Cecil Russell, VP of strategic planning for Save Mart. “Jerry’s Kids come in all ages and sizes, and our stores and our customers will continue to help the MDA raise the funds it needs to help everyone affected. We need to remember that every dollar counts in the battle against these diseases.”

This is just one of several fundraising efforts in which Save Mart participates to support the MDA. The company co-sponsors the Sierra Hope Ride in June. For several weeks during the summer, stores chain-wide offer their customers shamrock icons to generate contributions at check stands and participate in the MDA’s Aisles of Smiles product promotion. In addition, employees volunteer to staff the phones during Jerry Lewis’ annual Labor Day telethon.

Modesto, Calif.-based Save Mart operates more than 240 stores throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada under the Save Mart, S-Mart Foods, Lucky, and FoodMaxx banners.
