Save Mart to Launch ‘Farm to Table’ TV Food Show

This Fourth of July, Modesto, Calif.-based Save Mart and Lucky stores will launch “Bringing It Home,” a farm-to-table food TV show that will run Saturdays in the Sacramento, Calif.; San Francisco Bay Area, Fresno, Calif.; and Reno, Nev., markets through the end of the year.

“You’ve heard of MTV’s ‘Behind the Music’? I see our show as ‘Behind the Food,’” said Laura McIntosh, host of “Bringing It Home.” “I was born in a farming town in California, so every episode embodies my lifelong commitment to educate consumers about the culture and heritage of California-grown foods.”

The 30-minute show (BringingItHome.com/) brings viewers to farms that produce California’s abundant crops, and then demonstrates how culinary wizards from around the United States transform that bounty into fresh, healthy meals the whole family will enjoy.

“‘Bringing It Home’ speaks to our customers’ interest to be more connected with the foods they serve to their families and also enjoy themselves,” said Steve Junqueiro, president and COO of Save Mart. “The show highlights the richness of California agriculture and helps our customers understand how fortunate we all are to have local growers who deliver the benefit of fresh, safe food every day.”

Each month, customers at Save Mart and Lucky stores in Northern California and Northern Nevada will be able to pick up the show’s companion recipe booklet, “The Dish.” In addition, shoppers will find the recipe from the “What’s in your bag?” segment of the show in the stores’ weekly ad.

Save Mart operates more than 240 stores throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada under the Save Mart, S-Mart Foods, Luck, and FoodMaxx banners.
