Save-A-Lot's Ardagna Joins Lawmakers on National Teen Pregnancy Panel
ST. LOUIS -- Save-A-Lot's director of government and community relations, Wendy Ardagna, today joins Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif.; Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.; Rep. Nancy Johnson, R-Conn.; and other panelists for a discussion about the critical role parents play in helping their children make good decisions in adolescence about love, sex, and relationships.
The event, which is taking place in Washington, D.C., coincides with the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy's release of a new publication, "Parent Power: What Parents Need to Know and Do to Prevent Teen Pregnancy."
"For parents, new challenges continuously present themselves. Talking about teen pregnancy is one of them," said Dave Pylipow, Save-A-Lot s.v.p./human resources and management services. "For some parents, it may be the most important conversation they have with their children -- and the most difficult to bring up. As an employer, we are aware that teen pregnancy is a concern for some of our employees."
Pylipow said Save-A-Lot will make "Parent Power" available to its employees, plans to include it among its benefits information and in its employee assistance program, and urges other employers to include the guide in their employee assistance programs, as well.
