Save-A-Lot Taps Goodman for E.V.P./C.O.O. Post

ST. LOUIS -- Supervalu's Save-A-Lot subsidiary, based here, has named Mark Goodman, an ex-Wal-Mart executive, as its new e.v.p./c.o.o.

Goodman, who most recently was e.v.p./marketing, membership, and e-commerce for Wal-Mart's Sam's Club subsidiary, will be responsible for leading and managing retail operations for Save-A-Lot's network of 1,200 stores.

According to information on Save-A-Lot's Web site, the subsidiary's last e.v.p. and c.o.o. was Bill Shaner, who was named president and c.e.o. of Save-A-Lot in May 2006, after the company's founder Bill Moran announced his retirement.
