Sam’s Club to hold Free Children’s Health, ID Screenings
To help parents prepare for the back-to-school season, Sam’s Club is conveniently holding children’s health and ID screenings for members and guests across the country on Saturday, July 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Every location with a pharmacy will take part in the free screenings, which will be offered at more than 500 U.S. clubs.
“Summer is the perfect time to take advantage of children’s extra free time by scheduling health checkups,” explained Jill Turner-Mitchael, EVP of Sam’s Club, a division of Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. “As the summer continues and kids are out playing, we know that safety is also important to parents, so Sam’s Club is offering a special joint health and safety screening to help protect children in the event they are ever lost.”
Sponsored by Band-Aid Brand Adhesive Bandages, CLIF KID ZFRUiT ROPE, Dial Foaming, Liquid Soap Pump, G2 Clear, L’il Critters Gummy Vites, and Neosporin and Neo To Go!, all of which are providing free on-site samples, the screenings will include blood pressure, body mass index (BMI) and vision checks, as well as fingerprint kits and DNA swabs. The tests, valued at $100, will be conducted by certified technicians from Spring Hill, Fla.-based medical screening company Carmen Ingle and Associates. Fingerprint kits will be administered by an in-club technician, while the DNA swab kit can be administered during the screening or taken home by a parent or guardian.
Sam’s Club plans to host various free monthly health screenings going forward. Next month’s screening will focus on vision health for all ages in all clubs featuring Sam’s Club Opticals vision centers.
