Safeway Updates Ground Beef Recall Dates; Adds More States
PLEASANTON, Calif. -- In cooperation with United Food Group, LLC's expansion of dates for the voluntary recall of ground beef that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, Safeway here is expanding its voluntary recall of several fresh ground beef products in Arizona.
The ground beef products in United's latest recall expansion included those produced April 13, while the products subject to the original recall were produced April 20. The Safeway expanded recall includes ground beef products that have sell-by dates of April 7 through May 1, 2007.
In addition, Safeway is recalling tubes of ground beef in other states; the retailer recalled Moran's All Natural 73 percent Lean Ground Beef (five pounds with 27 percent fat) that are sold in Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, and New Mexico stores with a sell-by date of April 29, 2007.
