Safeway Buys Remaining Shares of GroceryWorks
PLEASANTON, Calif -- Safeway, Inc. here yesterday purchased the remaining 43.8 percent of GroceryWorks, that it didn't already own, making the company's exclusive provider for online grocery shopping and home delivery a wholly owned subsidiary.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
GroceryWorks operates Safeway.com in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, California, Portland, Oregon, Seattle, Washington, Phoenix, Arizona, and the Washington D.C. markets. The e-tailer also operates Vons.com throughout Southern California and Las Vegas, Nevada.
