On the Run Upgrades Its Mobile App

GAITHERSBURG, Md. – On the Run customers in the St. Louis area can now view daily winning lottery numbers thanks to an upgrade to the On the Run mobile app, in partnership with the Missouri Lottery.

Available for iPhone, Android and Blackberry users, the app features a feed supplied by the Missouri Lottery that displays the winning numbers as soon as they are reported by the state.

On the Run customers can also benefit from a new game, Batter Up, that's been added to the app. In this interactive baseball bubble game, users need to match three identical prizes to win. The more that customers play, the more chances they have to win prizes such as in-store coupons or free merchandise. They can also gain credits or move up on the in-app leaderboards.

“The customers love the deals on the app and we are excited to add more features they will enjoy,” said Tracey Hughes, On the Run’s vice president of strategic planning. “The app provides customers with great values, fun experiences and information they want like gas prices and winning lottery numbers, right in the palm of their hands.”

These two new additions join the app’s other features, including deals of the day, store locations, gas prices and customer feedback. On the Run works with OpenStore by GasBuddy, which helps retailers increase customer loyalty by providing two-way communication between c-store owners and customers using leading-edge web technologies and custom-branded mobile apps.

Cuba, Mo.-based Wallis Cos. introduced the On the Run concept to the St. Louis market in August 2000 in response to consumer demand for a superior convenience store. Wallis is a petroleum distributor and convenience store operator whose portfolio includes nearly 550 staffers and services more than 200 c-stores in the region. It is also a regional franchise developer for On the Run in Missouri.
