Roundy’s Metro Market Hosts Singles Fiesta Night
A Fiesta-themed singles night at Roundy’s-owned Metro Market over the weekend at 1123 N. Van Buren in downtown Milwaukee was among the many highlights staged to commemorate the upscale supermarket’s fifth anniversary celebration.
“On the Market in the Market: Fiesta Style” -- which took place on Friday, Aug. 21 from 10 p.m. to midnight -- was the first special event Metro Market staged prior to the official festivities to mark its fifth year in business this Thursday.
During Metro’s recent Singles Night, a salsa instructor provided Latin dance lessons alongside plenty of fiesta-type food samples, including Metro Market specialties like salsa, guacamole, quesadillas, shrimp, and stuffed Anaheim peppers with chorizo sausage.
Providing Milwaukee singles with a way to find “Mr. or Ms. Right” in the grocery aisles, this year’s event was the fourth Singles Night in Metro Market history. Those in the past have attracted roughly 500 people each time. For the most recent, fiesta-themed event, attendees were encouraged to wear fiesta attire and partake in such activities as decorating sombrero cookies, playing pin the tail on the donkey, turkey bowling and stacking Oreos.
