Roundy’s to Deploy Price Optimization Solution

Regional wholesaler and retailer Roundy’s Supermarkets, Inc., plans to deploy price optimization software that includes category planning tools, weekly price maintenance capabilities, and recommended, optimized prices across all pricing zones, each week.

The Milwaukee, Wis.-based grocer will work with retail technology vendor Revionics, Roseville, Calif. on the solution. “Our primary goal in pricing is to offer our customers the most value for their grocery dollar,” said Jason Benish, VP of pricing and strategic initiatives for Roundy’s. “Revionics offered the superior analytical and optimization tools we need to achieve our goal. Its software-as-a-service platform accelerates installation, and their intuitive solution ensures user adoption, both enabling a rapid return on our investment.”

Roundy’s operates 155 stores under five banners, including Pick ’n Save, Rainbow, Copps, Metro Market, and the newly launched Mariano’s Fresh Market. Its recipe for success includes delivering superior products and services, competitive pricing, and a deep commitment to the communities it serves. The chain will launch its initiative with Revionics’ Analytic Services, which it expects to provide insight into market patterns and consumer preferences, to make better, fact-based decisions.

Roundy’s operates 155 retail grocery stores and over 90 pharmacies in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois.
