Ritzert Rises to Price Chopper VP of Meat Merchandising

Price Chopper Supermarkets/Golub Corp. has promoted Larry Ritzert to the position of VP of meat merchandising, reporting directly to Mark Brown, VP of perishable merchandising. Ritzert succeeds Jerry Wallace, who has left the company

In his new role, Ritzert will oversee the sales, margin, variety, inventory, procurement, advertising and long-term planning of the 119-store northeast regional operators meat departments.

Previously the meat/seafood director for bigg’s, a Cincinnati-area division of Minneapolis-based Supervalu, Ritzert joined Price Chopper in 2007 as a senior category manager.

Schenectady, N.Y.-based Golub owns and operates Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The family-owned company has over 23,000 associates who collectively own 55 percent of its privately held stock.
