RiteAid Exec. Wins NACDS Top Honor

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Rite Aid, v.p., government and trade relations Jim Krahulec, was awarded the Harold W. Pratt Award, the association's highest honor, at this year's NACDS Pharmacy & Technology Conference in San Diego.

Krahulec was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the value and support of pharmacy within the chain drug industry. "Jim is a well-respected leader in our industry," said Craig Fuller, president and c.e.o., NACDS, based here. "He becomes completely immersed in whatever task he undertakes. He not only rallies his troops within his own company, but drives industry-wide action. Although he doesn't necessarily enjoy the limelight himself, he's always behind the scenes making things happen."

Krahulec has been a longstanding member of the NACDS Government Affairs committee, now known as the NACDS Policy Council. After graduating pharmacy school at Purdue University, Krahulec joined the Walgreen Co. in Chicago in 1969 and earned a law degree while working full-time.

In June 1978 he joined the government and trade relations department at the Rite Aid Corp., where he has worked to this day.
