Ring Bros. Marketplace Celebrating Spring with a Food and Wine Fest

Ring Bros. Marketplace will celebrate a 5th Annual Spring Festival of Food and Wine Saturday, April 26, an event the single-store independent started to educate and entertain shoppers while introducing them its latest upscale offerings.

The free event includes cooking demonstrations throughout the day, Ring Bros. said. Gourmet food purveyors from around the country will be on hand to give out samples of new products, including Good JUJU Bakery, Kayak Cookies, and Olivia’s Salads.

“We have vendors calling us to participate in the festival because they know it is a great way for a lot of people to try their new products,” said Pat Ring, grocery manager for Ring Bros. “Every year it gets bigger and bigger.”

Harney's Wine and Liquors, one of Ring’s six individually-owned businesses, will hold its popular Grand Wine Tasting, featuring a selection of more than 50 fine wines from around the world. Representatives from major wineries will be on hand to answer questions about their offerings.

“With summer right around the corner this is an excellent opportunity to try some new wines for your cookouts or evenings on the deck,” said Marc Reingold, owner of Harney’s Liquors.

Every store in the marketplace will provide samples of their made-from-scratch items, including Spinner's gourmet pizzas, Nata's Noodles appetizers and desserts, Chatham Fish's crab and scallop cakes, and Dark Horse's fine meats and deli items.

As with previous festivals, the event will feature live music by The Bart Weisman Trio. “Having live music really adds to the day,” said Donald Fallon, director of marketing.

A raffle will be held to benefit The Harwich Family Food Pantry, a non-profit, non-denominational activity dedicated to serving the needs of the less fortunate of Cape Cod. The grand prize will be a steak and lobster dinner for two, with first prize of a $50 Ring Bros. gift card and second prize a $25 gift card.

Ring Bros. consists of six independently owned businesses: Ring Bros. Markets which specializes in fresh produce, dairy, and grocery products; Harney’s Liquors, which carries a large selection of wines, craft brews, and top shelf liquors; Dark Horse Beef and Deli offers all natural beef, chicken, cheese, and deli products; Spinner’s Pizza & Burrito prepares gourmet pizzas, burritos, take home meals, and homemade desserts; Chatham Fish & Lobster features fresh fish, shellfish, and lobster; Nata’s Noodles and Montilio’s Express round out the marketplace’s offerings with desserts, freshly made pasta, and prepared gourmet foods.
