Rice is Nice for Snacking
New York Style has introduced Risotto Chips, which the Westchester, Ill.-based company says is the first snack inspired by the slow-cooked Italian rice dish. Made with arborio rice, the chief ingredient of risotto, the thin, crispy dippable chips are all natural and gluten-free. They also offer 11 grams of whole grains — 13 percent of the recommended daily allowance. Available in Spicy Marinara, Parmesan & Roasted Garlic, and Sea Salt varieties, the snack line comes in 5-ounce bags merchandised in the deli section and selling for an average of about $2.99 per bag, according to New York Style.
