Reese’s ‘Green Lantern’ Promo Sets the Sky Alight

One winning consumer will be able to soar to 40,000 feet in a state-of-the art fighter jet by taking part in an on-pack, instant-win promotion held by Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Warner Bros. Entertainment to coincide with the June 17 premiere of the “Green Lantern” movie. Superhero Green Lantern’s alter ego, Hal Jordan, is a test pilot, providing the inspiration for the promotion’s prize.

“The Jet-Fighter Experience” invites fans to look for a game message inside of wrappers of specially marked packages of 1.5-ounce Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups at participating stores, while supplies last. In addition to the instant-win prize of a ride for two in a fighter-style jet, first-prize winners will get an authentic “Green Lantern” ring, second-prize winners will receive a “Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters” video game for either Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 gaming systems, and third-prize winners will get a $12 movie theater gift certificate. Additionally, printed inside each package are 30 collectible characters from the movie so that purchasers can find out more about its intergalactic police force, Green Lantern Corp.

“Reese’s perfect pairing of peanut butter and chocolate has long thrilled consumers’ taste buds, and with the Jet-Fighter Experience, the brand will be able to thrill fans’ other senses,” noted Anna Lingeris, spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania-based Hershey Co. “Just like the Green Lantern’s powers, the winning fan’s experience will be out of this world.”

Fans can also visit the Reese’s Facebook fan page to view an exclusive “Green Lantern” video. The Facebook page additionally offers Perfectly Heroic prize details, movie photos, custom invitations and more.

The specially marked Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups packages will be available in stores nationwide through Sept. 30. For more information on the promotion, consumers can visit www.reeses.com/greenlantern.

Directed by Martin Campbell, “Green Lantern” stars Ryan Reynolds in the title role as the classic DC Comics superhero.
