Redbox Debuts at Chicago's Jewel-Osco
OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. -- In a deal with Supervalu, Redbox is installing its fully automated DVD rental kiosks in select Jewel-Osco stores here, and expects to have its signature red boxes available at almost all 185 Jewel-Osco locations by month's end.
Gregg Kaplan, Redbox c.e.o., said his company "continues to gain momentum in the marketplace as we offer consumers a quick, convenient way to rent their favorite new release titles."
Redbox is also installing kiosks at Supervalu-owned Albertsons stores throughout Southern California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Wyoming, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Redbox kiosks are expected to be available at more than 350 Albertsons company-wide by the end of April.
Film fans can use the kiosks to check out DVD movies for $1 per night at the store locations, and can return the DVDs to any Redbox kiosk nationwide.
