Reasor’s Store Wins Merch Excellence Award
Reasor’s Foods’ Jenks, Okla., location won the prestigious Excellence in Merchandising award for the most outstanding deli department in 2010 from among over 2,000 supermarkets serviced by Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG).
Presented to but one supermarket each year, AWG’s deli merchandising excellence award was bestowed to Reasor’s Jenks store in light of its outstanding restaurant-quality products showcased in the spacious and well designed deli/prepared foods area found at the 80,000 square foot store. Exemplifying the possibilities that service and selection bring to a supermarket, the store features a separate entrance that offers quick and easy access with a grab-and-go meal display that enables customers to be on their way without waiting. For those shoppers who wish to relax and have a casual dine-in meal, free Wi-Fi is also available.
The store also offers self-serve salad and hot soup bars and a Java Dave’s upscale coffee shop located in the deli area as well, along with fresh pizza, whole or by the slice, plus fresh fried and rotisserie chicken as well as a meat carving station. Traditional deli items are also key to this store’s success, including over 250 varieties of domestic and imported cheeses plus a wide selection of in-house smoked meats.
Jeff Reasor, president of the Tahlequah, Okla.-based Reasor’s Foods, picked up the award on behalf of the award-winning store at AWG’s recent annual shareholder’s meeting in Kansas City.
Founded over 47 years ago, Reasor’s was family owned until 2007, when it became an employee owned company. Today, Reasor’s has 15 locations and two convenience stores and employs nearly 3,000 people in Northeastern Oklahoma.
