Raley’s, Stater Bros. Re-up With MoneyGram

Raley’s and Stater Bros. Markets have renewed their respective contracts with Dallas-based MoneyGram International to provide money transfer services. The independent California regional grocers represent a combined 287 locations in MoneyGram’s network in a major local and international remittance market.

A MoneyGram agent since 1999, Sacramento-based Raley’s provides money transfer services, urgent bill payments and money orders at 120 of its 133 stores in northern California and northern Nevada. San Bernardino-based Stater Bros. Markets, which has also been with MoneyGram since that year, offers the same services at all of its 167 stores, which are located in the Inland Empire region.

“A key strategy for MoneyGram is to partner with grocers to provide convenient and reliable money services to their customers,” noted MoneyGram VP of strategic accounts Rick Byrne. “One of the largest money transfer corridors is the U.S. to U.S., with a large percentage of transactions sent intrastate and within individual cities in California.”

MoneyGram has 6,947 grocery outlets across the United States that provide money transfer, money order and express payment services.
