Raley’s Launches iPhone App

Regional independent Raley’s has developed a free iPhone application to provide its shoppers with extensive recipe database shopping lists at their fingertips.

The app is based on the West Sacramento, Calif. Grocer’s free in-store publication, Something Extra (SE). Users can search for recipes by category or main ingredients.

When a customer finds a recipe, she can automatically load all the ingredients needed onto her shopping list, and add additional items later. By using the Favorites fuction to rate and save preferred recipes, customers will also have fast access to their top meal solutions.

“The SE Mag App offers a direct way to help our on-the-go customers, before they enter the store,” said Raley’s e-commerce marketing manager Bob Mariano. “We’re making meal planning and grocery shopping more convenient.”

The SE Mag App is compatible on any iPhone or iPod touch, and requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later versions. For more techie details or to download SE Mag, shoppers can visit the Mac App store at http://www.apple.com/iphone/
