Publix’s Jones to Hold ‘Conversation’ at NARMS Spring Conference

Member attendees of the 15th National Association for Retail Marketing Services (NARMS) Spring Conference & Exposition at Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel, Fla., scheduled for April 17 through April 20, 2010, will have the opportunity to participate in “A Conversation with Randall ‘Todd’ Jones,” president of Publix Super Markets, Inc. Jones will speak at the industry event April 19 during the 2010 Manufacturer/Retailer Connection Session, a forum at which individual manufacturers/retailers can discuss new initiatives, systems and/or business philosophies with fellow organization members.

A 30-year Publix employee, Jones began his career with the grocer as a part-time front service associate while in high school. Eventually, he rose through the ranks of retail management, including 10 years as a store manager, before taking on operational leadership roles within the Jacksonville, Fla. division. In 2005, Jones became SVP of product business development, and moved into the role of company president three years later, in which capacity he oversees retail operations and supply chain functions for the entire chain.

Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix operates over 1,000 stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.

NARMS serves as a “central gathering point” for the retailing industry, promoting and establishing industry standards, and providing industry research studies and educational information about the industry while representing its diverse membership of service providers, manufacturers, retailers and associates. With nearly 450 member companies, NARMS represents all classes of trade, including grocery, drug, mass, value retailers, specialty and convenience retailers.
