Publix Pharmacy Providing Free Generic
Publix Super Markets pharmacies have begun offering free 30-day supplies of up to 30 tablets of lisinopril to shoppers with valid prescriptions for the generic medication. Lisinopril is part of a class of medications known as ACE inhibitors, which prevent, treat or ease symptoms of such health problems as high blood pressure, some heart conditions, diabetes and certain chronic kidney conditions.
“While this is not a formal part of the Publix Diabetes Management System, offering lisinopril for free augments the diabetes program perfectly,” noted Maria Brous, media and community relations director at Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix. “Since the medication is so widely used, many customers with other conditions will benefit as well. We are hopeful that offering lisinopril for free will help our customers stay compliant with this important medication.”
All strengths of lisinopril are free, although lisinopril-hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) combination products aren’t included in the offer.
Privately owned and operated by its 148,500 employees, Publix operates 1,038 stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.
