Publix to Enter Tuscaloosa, Alabama
ATLANTA - Atlanta-based Cousins Properties on Thursday announced that Publix Super Markets has signed a lease to lead its latest project, a 70,000-square-foot grocery-anchored retail center in Tuscaloosa, Ala. scheduled to open in December.
A 44,000 square-foot Publix will anchor the center, a co-development with Murphy & Associates.
"We are delighted to work with Publix for their first location in Tuscaloosa, said Joel T. Murphy, president of the retail division of Cousins Properties. "This project is located at the primary traffic artery for the residents of the upscale housing surrounding Lake Tuscaloosa."
The Tuscaloosa site will be the company's eighth store in Alabama its only Alabama location outside the Birmingham and Huntsville areas.
