Progresso Offers ‘Souper’ Makeover Opportunity

To raise awareness of its lineup of over 40 soups containing 100 calories or under, Progresso Soup has rolled out the “Souper You Debut” contest, which will send three grand-prize winners to fashion capital New York City for a complete makeover by top stylists and wardrobe specialists. Through March 15, consumers can enter the contest by visiting www.Progresso.com/SouperYou and submitting a photograph and a short essay explaining what they love about Progresso Light and 100 Calorie Soups, and why they want a makeover.

“Our consumers are often pleasantly surprised when they learn that many of our most popular soups, like Chicken Noodle or Manhattan Clam Chowder, have 100 calories or less per serving,” said Taylor West, associate marketing manager of Progresso Soup, a brand of Minneapolis-based General Mills. “The Progresso Souper You Debut contest gives us the opportunity to celebrate great taste together with our consumers in a fun and rewarding way.”

In late March, Progresso will choose 10 finalists from among the contest entries and post them online. Consumers will then vote for their favorite entries between March 29 and April 12, and the three finalists who garner the most votes will receive the grand prize of a trip for two to New York City, accommodations in a plush Manhattan hotel, the aforementioned makeover, and a $1,000 wardrobe-shopping spree with a personal shopping consultant. The seven other finalists will each get a $100 cash card.

The site additionally features quotes from contest entries, product reviews from bloggers, and a coupon for $1 off any three varieties of Progresso Soup.
