Progresso Bows Souper You Contest
To help consumers stick to their New Year’s resolutions to lose weight, Progresso Soup has rolled out the third annual Progresso Souper You Contest. Through Feb. 22, 2012, fans of the General Mills brand, which features 40 soups with 100 calories or fewer, can enter the competition by visiting a special website to submit a photograph, along with a short essay explaining why they love Progresso Soup and deserve a makeover.
Three grand-prize winners will receive a trip for two to Los Angeles for an “ultimate makeover” experience including two tickets to next season’s live finale of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.”
“With the Souper You Contest now in its third year, the team looks forward to hearing the successful stories of individuals who have included Progresso Soup in their diet as a way to help maintain a healthy lifestyle,” said Joanna Hargus, associate marketing manager of Progresso Soup at Minneapolis-based General Mills.
On March 12, 2012, Progresso will reveal the 10 finalists on the Souper You Contest website, where the public will then have until March 25 to vote for their top choice. The three finalists with the most votes will win the grand prize, including round-trip airfare for two to Los Angeles, hotel accommodations for four days and three nights, a $1,000 cash card for spending money, and a head-to-toe makeover encompassing hair, makeup, nails and consultation for clothing purchases using a $1,000 retailer gift card. The winners will also receive the tickets to “The Biggest Loser” finale.
