Progressive Grocer to Launch Technology Supplement

Stagnito Media’s Progressive Grocer magazine plans to launch a new quarterly print supplement, Progressive Grocer Tech, along with a companion online newsletter beginning this May.

“Based on our conversations with retailers and vendors, the industry is looking for a regular source of technology information that provides broad as well as in-depth coverage on a regular basis,” said Joseph Tarnowski, Progressive Grocer’s director of integrated media and technology editor, who will spearhead the supplement’s content-generation. “PG Tech will cover all areas of food retailing technology in every issue – from inside the store, throughout the supply chain, to consumer’s mobile devices.”

Progressive Grocer Tech will provide answers to supermarket executives’ ever-increasing need for useful information on the latest advancements in technology that can help drive the business of food retailing. It will cover new and emerging retail technology as well as the retailers’ strategies behind their deployment.

Each issue of Progressive Grocer Tech will cover the four key areas of retail technology:
• In-Store Systems (POS, Digital Signage, Shopper-Facing Tech)
• Marketing/Enterprise (Mission-Critical Systems, such as HR, Financials, ERP Systems)
• Supply Chain (Transportation, Logistics, Warehouse Management Systems)
• Web/Mobile (Online Tools, Social Media, Mobile Marketing, Etc.)

“Additionally, each story will be written with three key groups of retail executives in mind,” said Tarnowski. “Those who deploy it, such as CIOs, those who use it, such as VPs or marketing and merchandising, and those who pay for it, your CEOs and CFOs. These three groups account for approximately 60 percent of our readers.”

Progressive Grocer will be offering technology companies charter advertising sponsorships, which include a wide range of merchandising benefits. Suppliers interested in sponsorships can email Steven Lichtenstein,
publisher, Progressive Grocer, at [email protected]
