Pringles Plant Reopens

JACKSON, Tenn. -- The Procter & Gamble Co. resumed taking orders for Pringles today after resuming production at its plant here Monday night. The plant, which makes Pringles for the North American market, had been closed for a week after being struck by a deadly tornado.

Shipping will begin next week, the company said. P&G currently has less than 50 percent capacity working at the plant, which also makes Torengos chips. Initially the company is only making its three most popular Pringles flavors: Original, Sour Cream 'n Onion, and Reduced Fat Original.

P&G said last week that the disruption would hurt sales in the current quarter by less than 1 percent.
