Price Chopper Names Marketing V.P.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Golub Corp./Price Chopper Supermarkets said it has hired Peter Cobuzzi as v.p. of marketing to oversee brand management, marketing, advertising, market research, business intelligence, and consumer services.

Cobuzzi will report directly to v.p. of sales and merchandising Joe Kelley. According to Price Chopper spokeswoman Annette Kowalski, the marketing v.p. position had been vacant for some years. The last person to hold the title was Jerel "Jerry" Golub, who was most recently named e.v.p. and c.o.o. in February.

Before joining Price Chopper Cobuzzi's was at Fortunoff, Inc, as s.v.p. of marketing. Before that, he was v.p. of brand development for Lenox China & Crystal, v.p. of advertising and public relations for Tourneau watches; and director of marketing for Phillips Van Heusen, Geoffrey Beene.

The family-owned Golub Corp. owns and operates 116 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Golub employs over 23,000 associates who collectively own 55 percent of the company’s privately held stock.
