Price Chopper to Fete Local High School Basketball Team

SCHENECTADY, NY -- Price Chopper here has invited the Sidney High School boys' basketball team to make a special appearance at its Sidney, N.Y. store March 30 at 7 p.m., in honor of the team's status as Class C champions.

"When we opened this store, we held a fundraising party for three local nonprofits and invited the football team to celebrate their Class C championship, and now [there's] another Class C title in basketball," said Price Chopper community & public relations manager Barbara L. Page in a statement.

Attending customers can enjoy pizza, cake, and beverages, as well as get the chance to answer a few trivia questions about Sidney High School's sports accomplishments. Those who answer questions correctly will receive a Price Chopper gift card.

"We're hoping a lot of people come to congratulate team members and join in the fun," noted store manager Terry Jerauld. Also in attendance will be Sidney superintendent of schools Sandra Cooper; Tim McNamara, Sidney High School's assistant principal and athletic director; and head varsity boys' basketball coach Mike Brazee.
