Price Chopper Enables Kids to ‘Build-a-Bouquet’ for Mom
Price Chopper younger customers have the chance to “Build-a-Bouquet” for Mom in honor of her special day on Saturday, May 7 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 8 (Mother’s Day) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Kids age 12 and under chose three bunches of flowers with which to custom-build their bouquets:
Core Flowers: Alstromeria, Poms, Mini Carnations and Carnations
Focal Flowers: Snapdragons, Matsumoto, Cremons, Spiders, Sunflowers and Stock
Fillers: Baby’s Breath, Limonium, Statice and Asters
Once they’ve created their bouquets, the children wrap them in tissue, tie them with ribbon and personalize them with a specially designed card. The cost of building a bouquet is $5 plus tax.
Due to popular demand, Build-A-Bouquet stations are set up and staffed at all Price Chopper locations this year.
As well as the Build-A-Bouquet offering, kids of all ages can buy other treats for Mother’s Day honorees, including a special “Lots of Love” torte available for the occasion. The indulgent dessert is a puff pastry shell lined with chocolate truffle, filled with Chantilly cream and topped with seasonal berries. Many of the grocer’s stores also feature fresh-dipped chocolate fruit as a present for confection-loving moms.
“The Price Chopper experience is as much about taking care of family and celebrating tradition as it is about saving money on your food bill,” noted Mona Golub, the company’s VP of public relations and consumer & marketing services. “Mother’s Day is a perfect time to celebrate family, and Price Chopper is here to offer an easy and fun way to show Mom how much she really means.”
Based in Schenectady, N.Y., the Golub Corp. owns and operates more than 127 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Golub’s approximately 25,000 associates collectively own 52 percent of the company’s privately held stock.
