Tool Helps Shoppers Find Healthy Deals, the online health magazine destination from Emmaus, Pa.-based Rodale’s Prevention magazine, has launched its “Grocery Server” tool to help consumers locate deals on healthy food at local grocery stores.
The free tool is available in the site’s Healthy Recipe Finder section, and to use it visitors  key in their zip code to find results on thousands of money-saving deals at the majority of the local grocery stores in their area.
“In today’s busy world, we often miss out on deals that are right at our finger tips. Grocery Server is another service-oriented digital product addition to, offering readers a tool which enables them to be healthy, with affordability and speed in mind,” said Deborah Wilburn, prevention executive editor – digital.
Users can narrow their search by store, product, and product category, and can also use the tool to seek out what local stores carry ingredients that have been suggested in a recipe they found through the’s Healthy Recipe Finder section, which includes thousands of recipes from Prevention and other Rodale publications and books. Users can search by cuisine, health concern, dietary need, along with six other categories. “Grocery Server” also allows users to add their selected items from a variety of local stores, not just one in particular, to a shopping list and print it. The tool was also designed to make it easy for consumers to find recipes matching items that are on sale at their local stores. For instance, if chicken breasts are on sale at their local grocer, they can click on “See Recipes” on and get recipes that use this ingredient. Users can then share any deals they find via Facebook, Twitter, or Google Buzz, which will bring their “friends” directly to the sale page on
The tool is powered by Grocery Server, a joint venture of Qponix and focused on providing consumers with all of the information and tools they need to plan and save in their local grocery stores.
Prevention has a magazine audience of more than 10.2 million readers, and its Web site receives 2.1 million unique visitors each month, 28 million page views and 1.8 million in newsletter distribution.
