Portland, Ore. Fred Meyer Associates Ratify UFCW Agreement
Associates of Fred Meyer Stores in Portland, Ore., yesterday ratified a new 14-year contract with the United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 555 that covers 3,000 employees of chain who work in 27 stores in the Portland metropolitan area.
“This agreement provides quality jobs and high-quality health care for our associates and their families,” said Fred Meyer president Mike Ellis.
A division of Cincinnati-based Kroger, Fred Meyer operates 130 multi-department stores in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
