Plum Market to Open Airport Express Store

Specialty foods retailer Plum Market will open its first airport location in the McNamara Terminal of the Detroit Metropolitan Airport in 2015.  Hojeij Branded Foods, a company that specializes in providing airport restaurants, will operate the new store.

The Farmington Hills, Mich.-based grocer is known for its selection of natural, organic, local and specialty items.  Travelers will find hot and cold prepared foods that are made fresh daily and grab-and-go natural and organic snacks and beverages. The store will purchase seasonal organic produce directly from local producers and growers. Specialty offerings will include Zingerman's Coffee Bar and foods from Zingerman's Bakehouse, Creamery and Candy Manufactory. Plus there will be natural and holistic wellness products.

“The new Detroit airport location will offer travelers more convenient and quality healthy eating options while on-the-go,” said Matt Jonna, president and co-founder.

For travelers that have time for a drink, WineBar will serve up local craft beers, specialty mixed drinks and wines selected by Michigan native Madeline Triffon, America’s first certified female Master Sommelier.

Plum Markets operates four full-service grocery stores: Bloomfield Township, Ann Arbor, West Bloomfield and in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood.
